The MasterZoo pet store chain and the UAnimals charity foundation, with the support of the Savory brand, announced the results of the fifth wave of the “Paw of Care” charity initiative. The campaign raised over € 28,000, which UAnimals will use to organize field veterinary missions in frontline cities and villages. Doctors will sterilize, vaccinate, and treat both homeless animals and pets of local residents.
The winter “Paw of Care” campaign lasted from December 16, 2024 to January 31, 2025. During this period, branded stickers could be purchased at MasterZoo pet stores and online store. The partner doubled the donation if the check contained a Savory brand product. In total, Ukrainians bought 59,000 stickers during the campaign. Residents of Kyiv, Lviv, Poltava, and Kharkiv supported the initiative the most. Over 1,200 pet store/online checks contained only charity stickers — up to 50 pieces each.
“Paw of Care” for MasterZoo is more than just a project. It is a movement that unites the team, partners, and all pet parents in the country around the mission of saving four-legged friends from war. Overall, five waves of the initiative, almost € 153 000, were collected, which allowed thousands of cats and dogs from frontline and de-occupied towns and villages to be treated and provided with better living conditions. We are grateful to the UAnimals team for their work, to our friends Savory for doubling donations, and to everyone who cares about the fate of tailed friends,” comments Anna Timachova, CEO of the all-Ukrainian chain of pet stores MasterZoo.
“Our team is sincerely grateful for the opportunity to join the “Paw of Care” initiative. For us, it is about helping and rescuing tailed animals and developing a culture of responsible attitude and care for animals. It is symbolic that on the birthday of the Savory brand, which coincided with the completion of the fifth wave of the campaign, we are sending over € 4400 to help those who do not yet have loving pet parents and the care that every four-legged animal deserves,” commented Oleg Miroshnychenko, Head of Suziria Group’s Own Brands Department.
With the amount collected during the previous wave of the campaign, the UAnimals team continues to carry out vet missions, the last of which took place in Nikopol in January. During the trip, veterinarians from the UAnimals team sterilized and vaccinated animals and performed several complex surgeries. In total, 437 tailed animals were treated — 299 cats and 93 dogs — and more than 600 kg of food was distributed.
“Sterilization of homeless animals is one of the key components of our veterinary missions, which allows us to reduce the number of stray dogs and cats that will barely survive under shelling. Thanks to “Paw of Care”, the scale of assistance we can provide in frontline villages and towns is increasing often! And the fact that “Paw” has already taken place for the fifth time and every time Ukrainians respond and support the action is incredibly inspiring every time. The need for assistance to animals near the front is as acute as at the beginning of a full-scale invasion,” said Lyudmila Smolyar, head of the communications department of UAnimals.
The foundation plans to carry out the following veterinary missions soon. The amount collected within the “Paw of Care” is expected to fund up to 4-5 trips to frontline territories and help about 1,000 animals.
